| Summertown, located
just one mile from the City Centre, is a hive of activity.
Recently transformed by the arrival of leading national names
to the area, combined with a widening of the public walkways,
Summertown has managed to retain its independent and community
feel whilst still offering a wide range of independent and
national products and services. The surrounding areas of
Summertown are home to some of the most beautiful properties
in Oxford, and this has attracted the likes of Farrow and
Ball and John Lewis of Hungerford to what is one of Oxfordshire’s
most vibrant locations. |

Cowley Road and
St Clements are both Arterial roads in to the heart of Oxford.
Both of these roads are literally a five minute walk from
the Magdalen Bridge, at the bottom of the High Street in
Oxford. The area is home to a multi cultural and economically
diverse population. This part of the city is also host to
a large academic community. Cowley Road and St Clements are
vibrant and colorful places and this is epitomised with a
carnival that is held there each year which brings together
all the wonderful diversity of the city.
The area is littered with wonderful places to eat and drink, is the hub of the
Oxford music scene and has a large number of sometimes quirky but always interesting
shops and boutiques. Both Bus companies have routes to and from the city centre.
The Oxford Bus company runs the 5, 8 or 8A and Stagecoach runs the 1, 7, 10 and
the U1, N5, N4 or N15. |

| Headington's main employers are medicine, education, and research; it has a large and growing population. In the centre of Headington are a number of shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, and other services. The area also contains the main campus of Oxford Brookes University, the Ruskin House campus of Ruskin College and the city's main hospitals, including the John Radcliffe and Churchill. Oxford United were originally known as Headington United and their home ground until 2001, the Manor Ground (now demolished), had its main entrance on London Road.
The most famous landmark is The Headington Shark sculpture. The area contains a number of green spaces including Headington Hill and Bury Knowle parks. Close by is Shotover Hill, a heath and woodland area with views over Oxfordshire, and listed as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.. |
