Saturday 22nd August: Romeo, a boy from the wrong side
of the tracks meets the beautiful Juliet, a Capulet and his
family’s sworn enemy. They fall in love, but the high
walls of the colleges cannot hide their passion and only serves
to inflame the family feud. Somebody has to stop them before
they end up with a musician for a son-in-law. Be electrified
by this guitar wielding, heart pounding, rock and roll love

this year’s Oxfringe 2009, Balancing Act present another
production from Joe Graham. A Fistful of Mondays, romantic

the fortunes and romances of the Monday Night All Star Linedancing

a daring piece of physical dance theatre that delves into
the depths of our justice system. Theatrically staged on
an impressive revolving set, Justitia invites the audience
on an investigative journey as it unravels the multiple
truths concealed behind a gripping crime story. In a replay
of events, the audience will witness the action from different
perspectives - at the crime scene, in the court house,
inside a group therapy room - revealing new realities as

of the world renowned Kneehigh Theatre Company, has taken
one of the most beloved films of all time, the stage play
on which it was based and the music and songs of Noël
Coward to create this brand new Brief Encounter.
Brought to
you by the award-winning producers of Equus, Art and The
Play What I Wrote, Brief Encounter has a company of ten actor-musicians
who switch seamlessly between theatre and film to recreate
the world of Milford Junction and the famous station tearoom
in ways that have never been seen before. It has left both
audiences and critics over whelmed by emotion, laughter,
tears and praise for the production.

As we continue on in our 70th year, Oxford Playhouse is proud
to welcome a family of extraordinary talent to the stage.
Prunella
Scales CBE (Fawlty Towers, A Question of Attribution, Gertrude's
Secret) will be joined by husband Timothy West CBE (Brass,
King Lear, Bleak House) and their BAFTA award-winning, film-star
son, Samuel West (Howard's End, Rupert's Land, Iris, Van
Helsing) for an evening to remember.
Whilst in preparation
for the big night, Timothy has said, We don't often get the
chance to work together as a family, but we are very much
looking forward to doing so "For
One Night Only"at the Playhouse. And the Playhouse is
