Sailing in oxford

Oxford Sailing Club
Farmoor Reservoir, Oxford OX2 9NS. Tel: 01865 863201.
Web: www.oxfordsailingclub.com

We’re a lively busy club with a regular programme of racing and events as well as training section so there is always something happening.

Situated on Farmoor Reservoir 5 miles to the west of Oxford city centre between the villages of Cumnor, Farmoor and Eynsham with easy access from the A34, A40, A420 we offer one of the Premier inland water sailing clubs and waters in the southern half of England. Situated in an elevated position above the wide expanses of the upper Thames flood plain we have excellent wind conditions from the prevailing westerlys.

Two independent but adjacent reservoirs with deep water over their entire surface ensure plenty of space for all types of craft from the Mirror or Pico through to the fastest skiffs and windsurfers. Exhilarating reaches (or tiring beats and fretful runs) of up to 1.5Km are possible here.

Excellent and plentiful car parking a large clubhouse with good showers and changing facilities, plus easy launching from a large concrete apron. Hot food and bar are available on Wednesday evenings, Sundays and some other times.

We are able to offer a range of RYA approved sailing, powerboat and First Aid courses (and other training by arrangement if required) backed up with boat hire facilities to members and course participants.
