Get ready for your Christmas shopping – there is a little something for almost everyone in this lovely shop!
The University of Oxford Shop (the only official one!) is located in the centre of Oxford on the High, and already from the window decoration you can see this shop is very different to the average tourist shop. With some new product highlights, this shop really stands out, especially with their emphasis on high quality and locally made products.
I came to the shop on a quiet Thursday morning, perfect to have a good look around and admire the great range of products. If you are a tourist, a student, or a local resident, this is the place to shop!
All products are of high quality and many of them are locally made, which means that each product has a story to tell, for example the wide range of original pictures from local artists, or the new range of lady’s jewellery, designed by a local artist. The lady’s jewellery especially is a great new highlight because next to the typical jewellery for men for their graduation or other occasions (cuff links or tie pins), there is now a great range for the ladies to wear!
Other fabulous Oxford-related items are the Mr Wingate collection of cushions, tea-towels and prints featuring the Sheldonian Theatre, the beautiful Fritillary range, including cushions, notebooks and china, and the new Cityscape range of tea towels, mugs, and best-selling bags.
The range of clothing can be found in the back room and I have to say, look out for the new and very stylish dodo t-shirts for him and her! After the dodo shirts for kids were so successful, they are now available for all! Of course the typical and very popularOxford t-shirts, hoodies and bags are also available in this shop, including new styles and little Rugby shirts for kids and the very popular Oxonian range.
Getting ready for Christmas, the shop offers a great variety of seasonal products. There are Christmas cards with college designs, for example for Trinity, Brasenose, Oriel and St Peter’s, and Christmas decoration and candles with college images. If you are looking for very special Christmas decoration you should have a look at the Alice decoration range and make sure you have the white rabbit on your Christmas tree!
If you are looking for presents, you have a great choice of seasonal products, chocolates, and wrapped product packages, or if you are looking for something personal, you can even get a gift basket with the products of your choice. I’ll definitely be back soon for my Christmas shopping!
