Pure Indulgence Day Spa
oxfordshire

I am a 40 year old female who is tired, stressed and extremely time poor. When I eventually have “me” time I must achieve my objective. This being I want to feel revitalised and de-stressed. This is quite a tall order given my stress levels pre my “Pure Indulgence” experience.

I arrived at the salon, four miles from the city centre, in Kidlington. I was shown into the lovely, newly furnished, relaxation area. The salon offers a wide range of therapies with four treatment rooms and a spacious relaxation room. I immediately noticed the Elemis product range, which I adore from previous Spa experiences. I should have arrived ten minutes earlier, to take full advantage of the relaxation area for longer, as it does add to the whole spa experience. Having been given a drink, I was asked to complete the spa client form. I was then shown into the treatment room by Tammy Arnold, the Spa owner. She asked me the usual questions regarding skin allergies and medical conditions. The treatment I was about to have was called a “Restful Retreat” which is a one hour treatment incorporating a back, neck and shoulder massage and an Elemis ‘taster’ facial.

Tammy advised me to have a deep tissue massage on my shoulders. I then had a choice of aromatherapy body oils to be used in the treatment, such as the Elemis De-stress oil, exotic frangipani monoi moisture melt, musclease active body concentrate or the cellutox active body concentrate. Rose petals with aromatherapy oils were positioned directly under the treatment bed so that you inhaled the scent as you lay face down. The massage was heavenly.

Tammy then went onto the second part of the treatment being the Elemis Taster Facial, discussing my skin type and any concerns I may have with my skin. I was thinking a holiday in Barbados would improve my skin and don’t look too close at my face! Tammy made me totally relax into the treatment. Cleansing and exfoliation were performed on my skin prior to the treatment mask being applied, then a scalp massage was given whilst the mask was working. When the mask was removed, Tammy applied Elemis pro Collagen day cream, which I have to say I absolutely love. Once dressed, I was shown to a mirror in natural lighting, to review my skin, post treatment. At this stage I was thinking ‘I haven’t got any make-up on, so let’s not bother.’ But I was pleasantly surprised at the results. My skin looked firmer and fresher, and I could actually leave the spa without make-up feeling good. Objective achieved, as I felt relaxed, de-stressed and totally revitalised.
