Oxford Town Hall is a jewel at the heart of the city and more than just a government building. It is a centre for the community of Oxford and a resource for the whole city.
This autumn the Town Hall has opened up its doors more than ever. Delight in the splendour of this stunning building on one of our new weekly tours. The 30 minute tour delves into the building’s history and includes a peek into rooms and the 14th Century crypt housing some of the City’s treasures.
The variety of other public spaces within the building offer a feast of art, our café when you need to take a load off your feet, an active Gallery, City Plate display and the adjoining Museum of Oxford. We’re confident you will enjoy the experience.
Over the last year Oxford Town Hall has developed a strong community focus and we encourage the general public to cross the threshold to take part in the events and activities that are held in this magnificent building.
Entering our 2010 concert season we have no less than 14 scheduled classical, carol, folk and popular concerts from October to December and we continue to headline big new acts such as Imelda May.
But concerts, exhibitions and festivals are just one part of the cultural activities at the Town Hall and our thriving programme of events also includes dance classes from ballroom to salsa, lunchtime organ recitals and family fun days.
And Christmas will be better than ever this year. Starting from Light Night on 26th November our Winter highlights include Santa’s Grotto for the children and for the adults why not book for one of our shared party nights or even organise your own exclusive Christmas party.
As well as attending events at the Town Hall this impressive Victorian listed building with its grand ceilings, wood panelled walls and stained glass windows is a multifunctional venue available for hire for business meetings, private parties, public events and its historic setting has also made it a popular wedding venue within Oxfordshire.
For a detailed list of our upcoming events see our website. Tickets for concerts can be purchased through our box office on the number below.
If you would like to organise your own community event, art exhibition or hire the venue for a private function please contact our bookings office. |
