Ready to pick up your tennis racquet again or starting from scratch? Do you want your children to learn? Do you have a potential Wimbledon winner in your family? Whatever your level or goal, NOLTC can you offer the best tennis facilities and experience in Oxfordshire.
We have fantastic grass courts and floodlit hard courts that allow members to play tennis the whole year round. We are conveniently placed in North Oxford near to the ring road at the Sports ground on Banbury Road. . Our club has 10 grass courts and 9 hard courts with floodlights. The clubhouse has recently been completely refurbished ,and has excellent changing facilities, including showers, plus an attractive bar/ social area which can be hired for private functions. You can book courts online via the club website.
For children we offer a unique opportunity to get into competitive tennis from early childhood with The North Oxford Academy. This has been created to support all ages and levels of tennis for children from 3-16. The emphasis is on playing for fun so your children have the opportunity to learn tennis in a safe and family friendly environment. The programme runs in term-both at the club and in some local schools on an outreach basis. In school holidays we put on tennis camps. All the coaches are LTA qualified including CRB checks and first aid. The age of the player and level of the group follow the British Tennis Scheme.There is the flexibility for quick learners to accelerate through the levels so that they can progress according to their own ability pace and start competitive tennis when they are ready. Junior coaching starts at age 4 and is split into 3 stages.
For adults we offer a wide range of coaching opportunities. This is based on abilities from beginners/rusty raquets through to intermediate and advanced levels and including cardio tennis to increase personal fitness.
For the competitive player NOLTC runs probably the biggest range of teams in Oxfordshire, including men’s from A to G and women’s from A to E. These all compete in the Oxfordshire and national club leagues. To support the teams we have weekly team practice nights. On top of this there are also singles ladders and box matches to make your individual mark.
For the more socially inclined (but not necessarily the less competitive!) we run club sessions of mixed social tennis on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
Our well- established social programme includes American tournaments on bank holidays throughout the summer, a wine tasting evening and the annual dinner dance. Our website also offers social networking with other members.
So whatever your playing level and whether you want to join as family, couple or as a single, NOLTC has something for you. Once you have experienced the pleasure of playing on our courts we are confident that you won’t want to play anywhere else.
