We arrived on a lovely Sunday afternoon at this wonderful new boutique style hotel situated just a short walk from the heart of Oxford in Abingdon Road. The first thing we both said upon entering the reception area was “Wow!”
The quality of the build struck us, as did the luxurious surroundings. Let me put it this way, if you are looking for the ultimate place to relax in Oxford, it simply wouldn’t get any better than this.
We were fortunate to stay in Ethos’s spacious two-storey Luxury Sky loft Suite, which has spectacular views of the Oxford spires and surrounds. Imagine literally sleeping under the romantic night sky and stars, gazing through the overhead skylight curled up with softest linens in the most comfortable super king bed.
This independently owned hotel comprises twelve outstanding modern designer boutique style bedrooms, which is built with your comfort in mind, surrounded by high quality furniture, underfloor heating and windows which can be opened to hear the birds singing. Whether your visit is for business or pleasure, all of the rooms are well equipped with everything covered, including free wireless broadband, Sky Movies and Sports, direct dial phones with complimentary local and national calls (limited), a perfect kitchenette and much more. The complimentary breakfast is simple but perfectly adequate.
The hotel offers a wide variety of other services including discounted rates to a nearby health club complete with spa, gym and swimming pool, as well as complimentary access to Oxford’s premier private members club. Ethos is situated in a quiet location close to the River Thames, perfect for riverside walks or why not venture into town for a drink, meal or the theatre? It’s a great location for the more active of you with excellent routes along the river for a gentle jog!
Following our truly relaxing and luxurious experience at Ethos Hotel, I was left invigorated and ready to face a busy week at work. I wholeheartedly recommend Ethos if you are looking to visit Oxford, and don’t feel, if you are an Oxford resident, that it wouldn’t be worth spending a cheeky Sunday night out treating yourself and your partner! It’s a great base to go for a meal, as we did at Shanghai 30’s just up the road in St Aldates.
A perfect night. Thanks to Ethos.
