Rowell, located in the Historic Part of Oxford is one of the cities oldest established jewellers. Since 1797 Rowell has served both town and gown and over the years has produced many items for presentation including Gew-gaws for royalty, a casket for the Marquis of Butte, a tea set for Clement Attley and regalia for the lord mayors.
Step back in time as you enter the shop with its genuine Victorian display cabinets and there you will find a collection of new and antique silverware, clocks, barometers and breathtaking displays of pearls of all different colours shapes and styles. Glittering enamel and diamond set jewellery, tempting semi precious jewellery in all the colours of the rainbow.
Rowell design and commission many pieces exclusively for the shop. We love the exotic and unusual gems, such as star ruby’s and star sapphires and our gems are brought from all over the world to create a stunning and diverse collection. Currently on display and available for purchase is an exquisite and truly unique Ruby from Sri Lanka, handcrafted exclusively for Rowell and available at a cost of £8000.
This year we have added Murano glass jewellery and gents funky pieces in steel and silver. Needless to say the diamond collection has been noted for many years. Mounted in yellow gold, pink gold, white gold and platinum to the clients requirements making choosing a piece a peaceful and pleasant experience.
With Christmas fast approaching Rowell has many different gift ideas for those close to you and covers a wide range of budgets. This year’s must have items for women are undoubtedly the pearl collections, which have been steadily rising in popularity in recent times, some would say thanks to current cinema hit ‘Sex and the City’. The range goes far beyond the standard white pearls, with plenty of different colour and style combinations available. For men the classically yet individually styled Enamel cufflinks are proving a huge hit, with designs to suit all tastes.
