Special demonstrations relating to National Curriculum topics
are a popular feature of this working museum, with award-winning
displays, a Victorian kitchen and nursery and a children's
activities room.
Children can find out about the ancient Greek and Romans.

The kids club at weekends and school holidays provide the
member with a link to the exhibitions in the form of 'history
detective' workshops.

Branch Club, for children aged 8 – 16 meets

Children will love the slightly out-of-the-ordinary artefacts
that can be found in this University museum, including a
witch in a bottle, shrunken heads on sticks and a puffer
fish lantern.
Your children could not fail to be impressed by the massive
structure of a dinosaur's skeleton that fills the entrance
to this museum.

Play 'can you lift the cannonball?' or try your hand at one
of the numerous different workshops and events like weaving.

Part of the University's Faculty of Music, children can go
and explore the complete bow maker's workshop.

A very contemporary looking museum, which celebrates the
traditions of the river Thames and all the sports, people
and places that go with it. The museum also houses other
temporary exhibitions. There are lots of family activities
in which to partake throughout the school holidays.

This 16th century Market House contains an exhibition about
local social history. Take your children to see the beautiful
and intricate dolls' house on display.

The Vale and Downland Museum and Visitor Centre is located
in the busy market town of Wantage in Oxfordshire. The range
of services is very broad ranging, from galleries interpreting
the cultural heritage Vale of the White Horse region, to
a cafe with a delightful terrace and garden. It also acts

The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre was established in
2001 with the aim of setting up a centre to tell Roald Dahl’s
life story, to care for his archive and to promote a love
of creative writing in everyone.
